Day 1
Monday, April 28
We will travel from Illinois to Nashville for our first night away from home at the Clubhouse Inn. (B)
Day 2
Tuesday, April 29
Our second day will take us thru Tennessee and Georgia before arriving in Savannah, our home for the next 3 nights. We will be staying at the Doubletree Inn on the water front. Dinner tonight will be at the “Pirates House”, serving Savannah since 1753 with a bounty of good food, drink, and a rousing good time. One of Savannah’s most intriguing restaurants.(B,D)
Day 3
Wednesday, April 30
Breakfast will be in our hotel and then we will board the trolleys for a tour through the historic squares of Savannah. The rest of the day you can use your on/off trolley pass to explore on your own as the afternoon will be free to explore the waterfront or the historical district. Dinner will be a buffet dinner at The Lady & Son’s Restaurant. This is one of Paula Deen’s Restaurants and is a must-dine experience while in Savannah. Then it’s into the carriage for a Ghost Carriage Tour to experience the “haunted” side of Savannah, featuring a ghost named Gracie!! (B,D)
Day 4
Thursday, May 1
Breakfast will be in our hotel before taking the Paula Deen Tour. We will hear the “Rags to Riches” story of how Paula became of the Food Networks biggest stars. Lunch will be Uncle Bubba’s Oyster House, located on the Marsh with a wonderful view of the water anywhere you sit. Enjoy some free time before heading to dinner at the Riverhouse Seafood & Bakery, genuine Savannah flavor in an 1850’s King Cotton Warehouse. Following dinner, we will be attending the Savannah Theatre for their evening performance. (B,L,D)
Day 5
Friday, May 2
Friday: Today is a travel day as we head to Nashville, TN and the Opryland Hotel. We will have dinner on the way but you will have plenty of time to explore the beautiful hotel during the evening. (B)
Day 6
Saturday, May 3
We will go to the Water’s Edge Marketplace for a buffet breakfast. You will have time to walk around this beautiful hotel before boarding the coach to go to the “General Jackson” Luncheon Cruise for entertainment and good food. We will be returning to dock in the early afternoon and you may return to the hotel or go to the Opry Mills Outlet Mall for some serious shopping. There is a shuttle bus that runs from the Mall to the hotel every 20 minutes, so you may stay as long as you wish. You may also take a ride on the Delta River Flatboat inside the Gaylord Opryland hotel, which is included in your tour. (B,L)
Day 7
Sunday, May 4
Following breakfast at the Water’s Edge Marketplace Buffet, we will head back to Illinois, arriving home in late afternoon. The beauty of Savannah and the elegance of the Opryland Hotel blended with the good old southern hospitality of the south, and you have the prefect Southern Experience!!! We are glad you joined us for “Spring Fling Week”!!! (B)
