We will be staying at the Comfort Inn in Lexington. (B)

The bluffs of Nebraska will outline the early travels of the wagon trains and we marvel at the strength of the pioneers to have made such a journey. From Nebraska we travel into Colorado and to Black Hawk. Black Hawk and Central City were major mining towns in the 1800's and has been restored into small casinos. Between the two sister cities, there are close to 50 casinos. We will spend the next two nights in Black Hawk. The drive up into the mountains to Black Hawk is one of the most beautiful drives with high, solid walls of rock and a babbling brook running beside us. (B)

Leaving Black Hawk and traveling to Colorado Springs will be hard but there are so many more wonderful places to visit today. First stop will be the Cog Train for a ride to the top of Pikes Peak with lunch on the train. That afternoon we will visit Manitou Springs and see the Cliff Dwellings, home of the early Indian Tribes of the region. After our visit at the cliff dwellings we will go to the "Garden of the Gods", a marvel of rock sculptures and formations. Our home for the next two nights will be the Hampton Inn of Colorado Springs. (L)
