Day 1
Feb 5: Thursday:
We will depart Illinois today and head to warmer weather and sunny Florida. Lunch will be near Mt Vernon and we will stay in Nashville tonight at the Clubhouse Inn.
Day 2
Feb 6: Friday:
Sit back and relax as we travel thru Tennessee and Georgia. The weather will be getting warmer and the grass greener the further south we go. Tonight will be spent at the LaQuinta Inn and Suites in Valdosta, GA
Day 3
Feb 7: Saturday:
Today is an exciting day!! We will board our ship in the early afternoon and settle in our staterooms for the next 7 days. The 110,000-ton “Carnival Glory” is an immense floating resort with large-scale amenities. You'll find a sprawling 15,000-square-foot health and beauty centre on the spa deck. A variety of entertainment venues, among them a piano bar, dance club, wine bar, sports bar, casino and show lounge all of which promises fun evenings for all of us. Dining options onboard the Glory include a steakhouse supper club, a pair of two-level dining rooms, a casual poolside eatery, patisserie and sushi bar. Available around the clock are pizza, ice cream and complimentary stateroom service. Don’t forget the mid-night buffet!!
Day 4
Feb 8: Sunday:
You will have a chance to take advantage of all the venues onboard the “Glory” today as we sail to the Caribbean. There are all kinds of activities to do along with a casino to try your luck. Sleep in the comfort of your floating home away from home!
Day 5
Feb 9: Monday:
Our first port of call is Cozumel, Mexico. Long before Cancun became a popular destination, Cozumel was well-known as a diving spot and home to the world famous Palancar Reef, which gives divers the opportunity to view thousands of brilliantly colored fish. Non-divers can kick back on a sun-drenched beach, or enjoy any number of seaside activities, such as shopping in colorful marketplaces or dining in an open-air café. There will be several on shore activities for you pick from or you can choose to stay right on your ship and enjoy all it has to offer.
Day 6
Feb 10: Tuesday:
While you were sleeping....we sailed to Belize, a tropical paradise that promises adventure, both onshore and off. Crystalline rivers flow through impressive lowland jungles, home to a myriad of rare wildlife. Silky sand beaches, waving palms and colorful coral gardens are just part of Belize's natural wonders. Take the City Tour or go biking thru the mountains....it’s all here for you to enjoy. Return to your ship for a wonderful dinner and an evening of entertainment.
Day 7
Feb 11: Wednesday:
You will be waking up this morning to beautiful Costa Maya, Mexico!! Tucked between Playa del Carmen and Belize, Costa Maya's brilliant Caribbean seas, silky sand beaches and verdant jungle appear to be unchanged since ruled by the vast Mayan empire more than 1,000 years ago. The only break in the emerald horizon is the occasional beach hut. Secluded jungle settings lend an air of mystery. Wild twining orchids, bougainvillea and stately ceiba trees abound. Don't miss the 8-foot-high stucco faces at Kohunlich's Temple of the Masks or the Grand Pyramids at Chacchoben. Again, there will be on shore activities if you choose or you may stay on board for some rest and relaxation. Dinner and entertainment will offered again tonight.
Day 8
Feb 12: Thursday:
Sit back in your lounge chair!! Get a cold drink! And enjoy the warm sun as you cruise across the Caribbean on our way to Nassau, Bahamas The average temperatures this week will be a high of mid 80’s and a low of 65.......now doesn’t that beat the cold of Illinois!! Again tonight following dinner, there will be more entertainment for you to enjoy.
Day 9
Feb 13: Friday:
Wake up in Nassau in the Bahamas!!! What makes Nassau so special? Picture a place with stretches of perfect white-sand beaches, swaying coconut palms offering oases of shade, and warm, crystal-clear waters revealing the secrets of incredible multi-colored marine life. Whether you spend the day shopping for duty-free gifts and mementos, taking a carriage ride past sorbet-colored buildings, or touring in a glass-bottom boat. Return to the ship and enjoy your last night aboard by enjoying some fine dining and first class entertainment.
Day 10
Feb 14: Saturday:
This morning is our last morning aboard the “Glory” as we sail into Port Canaveral. Our coach will be waiting for us to take us to Orlando for another adventure. We will join the rest of our group at the Holiday Inn Resort on International Drive. Enjoy the warm pool and winding river or just sit back and visit with friends. The I-Trolly stops right outside of our hotel if you want to explore more of Orlando. There are malls, restaurants and shops just a few steps away.)
Day 11
Feb 15: Sunday:
A buffet Breakfast will be served and arrangements will be made for you to attend church if you wish. The afternoon is free and can be spent watching the Daytona 500, relaxing in the sun or exploring International Drive. Tonight we will enjoy an outside BBQ, weather permitting, and some good conversations with friends before retiring for the night.
Day 12
Feb 16: Monday:
We depart for home today!! We will travel thru Florida and Georgia before we stop for the night in Marietta, GA at the Drury Inn. We still do a stop at the “We’re Nutz!” shop in Georgia for those goodies to take home.
Day 11
Feb 17: Tuesday:
Sit back and enjoy the ride as we travel thru Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky and into Illinois. We will stop in Tennessee at a Russell Stover’s Factory Candy Outlet Store to pick up some more goodies and gifts for back home. We will stay in Mt Vernon, IL tonight at a Drury Inn.
Day 12
Feb 18: Wednesday:
It’s a short day today as we arrive back home in the early afternoon. It might be cold but we will be warm with all our memories of a wonderful cruise and fun time in Orlando.
