Day 1
Wednesday, May 7
Spring is in the air as we head to Branson to see the new spring shows. Our first day will be traveling through Illinois and Missouri and the signs of spring will greet us around every turn. This is also the time of year Branson starts its new 2008 schedule. We will stop for a quick break mid-morning and for lunch south of St. Louis, arriving in Branson late afternoon. We will have time to check-in to our hotel before sampling some of Branson's great cooking at the Gilley's Texas Cafe, then head to The Mickey Gilley Show. Mickey has a comedian named Joey Riley that performs with him that is very funny. Our home will be the Grand Oaks Hotel for the next 3 nights. (B,D)
Day 2
Thursday, May 8
Breakfast will be at our hotel and then on to the Doug Gabriel Show. This is a show filled with song, fun and laughter from the "little man with the big voice", and has been voted "Male Vocalist of the Year...for 7 years. We are going to slow the pace down a bit and head for downtown Branson and see the new multi-million Branson Landing downtown area. Shopping, food and entertainment along with the old downtown Branson. Don't forget to stop in the old fashion five and dime of years past! Enjoy lunch in one of the many new restaurants in downtown Branson. Dinner tonight will be at McFarlains, where you eat your dessert first!!! We are going to see .....Shoji...the most entertaining production in Branson. He will play and sing music of all kinds from Country to Classical and Rock and Roll. (B,D)
Day 3
Friday, May 9
Start the morning off right with the Hughes Brothers! The "Worlds Largest Performing Family" - 5 Brothers + 5 wives + 20 children and counting... one of the great success stories of American entertainment. OK..a quick break for lunch at Whipper Snappers and we are off to see Daniel O'Donnell. Daniel O'Donnell is one of the hottest tickets in Branson and we got him!! Join us for an afternoon with Daniel as he sings traditional Irish ballads, country favorites and traditional gospel. Our evening show is The Baldknobbers, the 1st Family of Branson, performing since 1959. A variety show featuring classic country, hilarious comedy, patriotic and gospel music. (B,L,D)
Day 4
Saturday, May 10
Today we head back north with the memories of a great trip. We will arrive back in Peru late afternoon. (B) |
